<description>I'm definitely reading all the blogs! After spending HOURS finding all of you .NET blogggers and personally inviting each of you to help us get the word out, this is now the fun part :)

I've been meaning to do this blog offer since last year, but i didn't feel VistaDB was quite ready for this sort of exposure. We had too many details that needed to be worked out at that point. And as we all know, software is a longterm ongoing process. I think we have ~400,000 lines of code that make up the entire VistaDB 2.x product line between engine, components and samples. There's a lot there. It's taken well over 3 years to get to this point (3 fulltime sr. guys coding with me supporting them with non-coding duties).

VistaDB 2.1 is a good release, so i decided to unleash this blogger marketing campaign. So far so good. A few people didn't like the fact that it felt like a &quot;boiler plate&quot; invitation, but after i explained that it was in fact me doing the inviting, they warmed up to us. I totally understand, this stuff takes time and some level of trust has to be established.

Regarding the CodeProject offer, I'm not sure what happened there, I sent everyone free copies that asked for them. It makes no sense for us not to do that. A few people emailed me weeks after that and i sent them free copies too. Funny how we never hear that side of it, but thats ok :)

I really hope VistaDB 2.1 is received well and people realize that it is a &quot;good alternative database&quot; and that we are working VERY hard to improve it.

Anyway, i feel like i'm rambling now. Thanks again for pointing out the flaw in our instructions and in actually taking time to talk about this.

<description>Well, it is nice to see someone benefit from this. He posted some messages on CodeProject a few months ago and promised many people license codes. Many people complained later that they never received any.

I have to admit that the product looks intersting and I might find it useful in certain scenarios. But I still have to wonder about the marketing techniques.</description>
